CVISD Calendar Submission Update

Member Districts of the New Mexico Coalition of Educational Leaders (NMCEL) recently filed a lawsuit against the NMPED regarding the imposition of the 180 Day Calendar Rule . As a result of the lawsuit, The Court has set the final hearing on this matter for July 2, 2024.  The practical effect of this scheduling is that the Preliminary Injunction will stay in place until at least July 2, 2024, requiring NMPED to approve budgets under the current Statute/Hourly calendar and budget requirements as NMPED is statutorily required to approve budgets by July 1, 2024. Therefore, the CVISD will re-submit a 24-25 school calendar based on current budgetary requirements and will not exceed the previous year instructional days or shorten the length of the summer break. Thank you for your attention.
