Title IX Information

Is the recipient’s/district/schools designed Title IX compliance authority. Compliance officer responsible for overseeing all complaints of sex discrimination and identifying and addressing any patterns of systemic problems that arise during the review of such complaints.

Conducts preliminary inquiry for all reported incidents involving sex discrimination. Title IX applied to athletics: Required to collect data from schools relating to total enrollment in athletics; enrollment by gender; number of students participating in athletics; athletic participation by gender; number of boys’ and girls’ teams by sport and by competition level; Definition of Title IX of the education amendments of 1972 states: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving financial assistance.

District Community Liaison Officer: Provide assistance with the efficient attendance operation of the school and or district. Ensure that all attendance activities conform to district guidelines. Notify parents/guardians of student absences. Communicate effectively with all students, parents’ teachers, and members of the school district and community. Provide correspondence via phone calls, letters and emails regarding student attendance/academics.

Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent attendance data. Request work from classroom teachers and notify parents of student being placed in an alternate setting as a result of attendance/academic violations. Conduct and schedule home visits. Schedule attendance meetings with families, students, school personnel and state and county agencies, on attendance/academics matters. Support all the values of education.
